百浪多息 Rachel's English 第十五期:精准发音 sort of ,check out等
Just for Fun
这一个节目中主要涉及alright的读法 can的弱读 短语check out 还有a lot of 的读法
Rachel
So, the space that we're getting married in used to be a chocolate factory, about a century ago.
virtue, [ˈvɚtʃu]
future, [ˈfjutʃɚ]
mature, [məˈtjʊɚr]
mutual, [ˈmjutʃuəl]
statue, [ˈstætʃu]
fortunately. [ˈfɔːrtʃənətli]
Where we're gonna get married.
So we came back today so that we could, sort of, think about decorations and layout.
这句话中的sort of 只是一个没有实际含义的词,它只是你在思考的时候嘴皮跟不上的表达,相当于汉语中常说的“恩,然后,就是”英文中的 filler words 比如说um.. ahh.. you know.. it's like.. that thing..ok..right.. well that thingee..basically...supposedly..actually..”
sort of /' sɔr dəv/ 在这里的t 发音为 d ,sort of 连读。
I'm sort of tired. I'm not really tired, but I'm sort of tired.
Are you hungry? Sort of.
He's sort of a jerk.
She's sort of annoying.
It used to be really typical to get married in a church. Less so now. Most of my cousins have gotten married outside. A lot of my friends as well.
a lot of /ə lɑ dəv/ 在这里的连读情况和 sort of 是类似的,听起来好像是一个单词。
what else can I say?
Alright
Let's check it out.
check it out /tʃə ki 'daʊt/ 有几种不同的意思:
1、end your stay at hotel
eg:We need to check out at 11.
2、to buy things at the cashier of a store.
eg: -Are you done shopping?
-No, I still need to check out.
1 、To be checked out 是没有注意,走神的意思
eg:I have no idea what was discussed, I was completely checked out during the meeting.
2、to check sth out
eg:-Have you been to the new coffee shop?
-No, I'll have to check it out soon.
3、to check out sth
eg :I'll check out her story before I write about her.
4、To check someone out 指对某人有兴趣
eg:I think he likes you, I saw him checking you out.
